Memphis Animal Services Welcomes Suzy Hollenbach as New Director
Memphis, Tenn. | June 18, 2025 — Pending City Council approval, the City of Memphis has appointed Suzy Hollenbach as the new Director of Memphis Animal Services. A lifelong Memphian with more than 15 years of experience in animal welfare, Suzy brings a strong focus on strategic reform and community-centered leadership to the role.
As the founder of All 4s Rescue League, Suzy built an organization grounded in neighborhood outreach, education, and advocacy. Her work has helped connect underserved communities in Memphis with the resources they need to care for their pets while also promoting responsible pet ownership and public safety.
With a background in business and project management, she’s known for building programs that are not only compassionate but effective. She has formed partnerships with organizations across the country and brings with her a reputation for collaboration, transparency, and results. Her vision is one where animal services are accessible, responsive, and truly connected to the needs of the city.
“Suzy Hollenbach’s appointment shows what’s possible when we listen to our community,” said Antonio Adams, COO for the City of Memphis. “Animal services is about people as much as pets, and Suzy has the vision to help us build a safer, stronger Memphis for both.”
Hollenbach’s addition to the Memphis Animal Services team will allow the shelter to continue its focus on building community trust, improving operational processes, and creating more support systems for both pets and people. To further support this direction, the City anticipates appointing a Deputy Director of Animal Services in the coming weeks to expand leadership capacity and accelerate long-term progress.
“My vision is a Memphis Animal Services that functions in unity, serving the entire city, where all neighborhoods and residents receive the same level of response and our animal population is addressed humanely,” said Hollenbach. “It is very important to me to focus on long-term solutions for animal welfare in Memphis.”
Suzy will officially begin her role as Director of Memphis Animal Services on June 18, 2025.
